Little Screen/Big Screen: What is Awe Now?

On a recent visit to The Broad Museum in Los Angeles I had the pleasure of visiting Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room Installation. We were playing it by ear that day, and dared to show up with no reservation. Lucky for us it was early on a Sunday morning, and we only had to wait about an hour and 45 minutes for our 45 second turn inside the room. Although this photo shows both of us staring intently into our small screens, we actually spent most of the time gazing into the incredibly beautiful constellation of lights and repeating images. Yayoi Kusama undoubtedly is an expert at invoking awe. Even the small screen can't compete with this all encompassing visual whammy!
