Meanwhile, back at the studio

Thank goodness I had some framed work to go in the Art5 Color Rush show in Martinez during December and January. But meanwhile back at the studio I've got my sleeves rolled up, elbow deep in paint and oderless mineral spirits working on a new series. The goal is not to cave in to my tendency to go for the blues and greens...the easy stuff. Make something with a new palette and make it "say what I wanna say", in the immortal words of John Mayer. Even though I've never attended Burning Man, I've been quite inspired by the idea of it and the images I've pored over online. Something about that hot, white landscape - no where to hide, and no reference points - just pure feeling and a wide open opportunity for creativity.
