The ever elusive Purple Painting

Last year a friend mentioned that she would love to see a purple painting from me. Purple is one of those colors, like green, that can be very tricky to work with. But I felt like taking up a challenge, and have been working to make a painting that is purple without it becoming, well, you know... purple! A work in progress...
